DescriptionEstablished in 1882, the University of the Punjab claims to be the first academic institution to be established in Pakistan in a Muslim majority area. The university is comprised of 4 campuses, 13 faculties, 9 constituent colleges, 64 departments, centres, institutes, and 434 affiliated colleges. It has 623 permanent faculty members involved in teaching/research and over 24,105 on-campus students. The Institute of Communication Studies was formerly named "Department of Journalism", and then the "Department of Mass Communication". Programmes
Other InformationAdmissions to most of the degree programmes are generally accepted in the months of August and September each year. After the completion of admissions, the classes generally start in the beginning of October each year.
