Anthropology of FreedomTheory SummaryA freedom is a possibility for choice. The state of freedom is the ongoing possibility for choice. But how is this possible? The author examines the conditioning imposed by the environment, genetics, sociological and cultural frameworks, and the constriction of ideas themselves. Among all these, weaves the path of freedom. The Gordian knot is undone when one comprehends the intimate relationship between autonomy and dependence. Freedoms of the spirit are achievable, but one must keep his/her consciousness awake.
