The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations as an annual observance of global non-violence and ceasefire. The day provides an opportunity for individuals, organisations, and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date.

Every year, people in all parts of the world honour peace in various ways on September 21st. Every Peace Day event provides an opportunity to inspire and empower communities to celebrate victories for peace that have been won throughout the year, and to  work for a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world all year long.
