Summary

This video segment is a sample of a project from India presenting, in video format, the information from the first volume of the operational guidelines of the National AIDS Control Project - III, from the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO). According to the filmmaker, "This documentary, first ever effort in digitizing the content of the [targeted interventions] TI Guidelines is a tool in training master trainers across the country." It is an effort to make information more accessible to trainers of Regional AIDS Control Units, who, through a nationwide strategic information management system, address issues of planning, monitoring, evaluation, surveillance, and research to help track the epidemic, identify the pockets of infection, and estimate the burden of infection. Additional objectives are to: 1) prevent infections through saturation of coverage of high-risk groups with targeted interventions (TIs) and scaled-up interventions in the general population and 2) provide greater care, support, and treatment to larger number of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA).
