Centre for Communication Rights

Summary

This online resource on communication rights was created by the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) on the principle that "Communication rights strengthen people's and communities' understanding of how communication and media contribute to development goals in the economic, political, social and cultural spheres." It contains documents on the background and history of the debate on communication rights, landmark documents on communication rights, debates, resources, and contextual documents. It includes current news access in both English and Spanish - for example: ARTICLE 19 Launches The Camden Principles on Freedom of Expression and Equality and Criminal charges for promoting access to knowledge - and recent additions -  for example: Communication Rights (Power Point - Portuguese), Media Development Indicators, and Why and When to Use the Media for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding.
