Founded in 1992 as Network for the Defence of Independent Media in Africa (NDIMA), Africa Free Media Trust is a media and human rights non-governmental organisation registered in Kenya. Through training collaborations with World Free Press Institute (WFPI), UNESCO, and Ford Foundation between 1995 and 2004, as well as human rights advocacy and lobbying, NDIMA was part of the struggle which brought about media independence and the freeing of the airwaves in Kenya.
