Event summary

The 2009 Drama for Life Festival, organised under the theme "Changing the Face of HIV/AIDS: Changing our Consciousness", is dedicated to building capacity in education, health, and cultural development through drama and theatre, with specific reference to HIV and AIDS. The festival seeks to inspire communities and introduce contemporary dramatic processes while paying respect to the rich indigenous knowledge that belongs to Africa. According to the organisers, during this event participants across the continent will be able to share experiences and explore ideas to enhance individual and collective efforts in a supportive environment, while striving to be inclusive, interactive, genuine, and relevant, among a wide range of practitioners from the continent and beyond.
