This international short film competition on climate change invites entries of a 1- to 1 1/2-minute film in categories including witness accounts, adaptation stories, animation, innovation, satire, under 18 years-of-age, amateur film-makers, professionals, fiction, music videos. The winning film will receive a cash prize of £1,000 donated by Passion Pictures. Winning films will screen in selected cinemas in the United Kingdom. Youth films will screen at the British Film Institute on November 28 2009 with TrueTube. Three finalists will also be chosen to screen at the Copenhagen Climate Conference. Dan Berridge of the Broadway Project has offered his music available for any 1 Minute Films on a free license for all entries to the competition. To access the music, register and download it from the 1minutetosavetheworld website. Application InformationAn in-house team will select 15 of their favourite films plus the 5 films rated most highly by the public. These 20 finalists will go before the panel of judges and be screened in the featured section of the 1minutetosavetheworld website home page and on The Guardian Unlimited. To enter, tag your film with “1minutetosavetheworld” when you upload it, and download the title sequence (optional). A title sequence is available on the website.
