Opportunity DetailsIntraHealth is looking for a full-time Senior Gender Equality Advisor based in headquarters in North Carolina to provide technical and training assistance in gender equality, gender-based violence (GBV) and women’s human rights. The Senior Gender Equality Advisor will provide direct technical assistance and training to projects and perform the following functions: Liaise with other staff in planning technical assistance; consult with national stakeholders on the design and implementation of project interventions; develop curricula, protocols and guidelines related to gender analysis, GBV and gender integration; design assessments and evaluations related to gender equality and GBV; identify and brief consultants and prepare SOWs; prepare and monitor workplans and budgets; and prepare or review concept papers, technical guidelines, reports, work plans, and other documents. The Senior Gender Equality Advisor will perform the following institutional functions: Manage a team SharePoint site and content of websites; write or review GBV or gender-related documents; and identify and act on appropriate state-of-the-art communications and social networking structures for gender equality communications and activism. Qualifications: (Required) An advanced degree in public health or related field with 8 or more years in gender (including GBV) and development; overseas experience working in low resource settings in a technical and management capacity ; conversant with USAID and other donor approaches in gender integration and GBV programming; familiar with international and regional conventions related to gender equality and gender based violence and how these are implemented; strong knowledge of, practical experience with and track record related to the psychological, social, economic empowerment of women; experience meeting complex technical assistance requirements on several concurrent projects/activities; experience developing performance-based curricula and protocols related to gender equality and various forms of GBV; excellent oral and written communication skills in English and ability to work in one foreign language (Spanish or French); skilled in designing, organizing and conducting training. (Desirable): Familiarity with Human Resources for Health, HIV/AIDS and MNCH programs and experience working in health settings; a collegial and collaborative working style with an ability to work alone and in teams; familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods; high level of computer literacy in Word, Excel and Power Point and Internet; ability to travel up to 35% % of the time; and willingness to master new technical areas.
