University Research Co. (URC) is seeking consultants for a proposed USAID project to implement the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Program in Liberia.

The purpose of the WASH program is to make measurable improvements in water supply, sanitation, hygiene and the enabling environment (for WASH) in target areas within six counties in Liberia and selected communities of greater Monrovia. 

Candidates should have strong formative research skills including consumer preference and knowledge and behavior (focus groups, studies, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A master’s degree in Public Health related discipline
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in BCC, preferably in hygiene
  • Strong formative research skills including consumer preference, knowledge & behavior studies
  • Experience in community mobilization including working with local leaders and local organizations including NGOs
  • Demonstrated ability to help direct multiple partner collaborative projects
  • Experience with creative Public Private partnerships (not necessary but a plus), social marketing, and health education experience.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and managing BCC activities
  • Demonstrated ability to create collaborative partnerships and build alliances among local influential opinion leaders, government, civil society and international organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior Government personnel, NGO partners, host country citizens, U.S. and foreign government organizations, donor partners, and the private sector
  • Demonstrated skills, abilities, and experience managing a program of similar magnitude and complexity; working collaboratively across technical disciplines, and communicating effectively orally and in writing
  • Experience working in Africa
